The move was taken in response to the complaints filed by students against cheating by a Noida based recruitment firm which duped the students with fake placements.

According to university officials the Central Placement Cell will be set up very soon at UPTU's Noida building. A senior placement officer will be appointed who would look after campus placements at UPTU's affiliated colleges.

Regarding the case of cheating and frauds in placements and recruitments, UPTU registrar U.S. Tomer said, "Inquiry would be conducted and fraud companies would be black-listed and their names will be displayed on the university website so that students can be warned in advance."

"Colleges have also been directed to report the university about the companies they have called for on campus placement. The university placement experts would scan the companies and notify students accordingly," Tomer added.

Several colleges under UPTU have decided to scrutinize companies before asking them to visit their campuses. It is expected that the move would further reduce the chances of fake placements.
